Retailers may want to make room for a variety of OTCs that feature unique formulations. Here's a preview of the over-the-counter items manufacturers are releasing:

Chattem is premiering Dexatrim Max^sub 2^O, a weight loss product in the form of effervescent tablets that are packed with green tea, chromium, ginseng, and vitamin B. The product is sold in individual, foil-wrapped packets, which the company claims are "perfect to take with you anywhere." Dexatrim Max^sub 2^O is available in mixed berry and lemon splash flavors.

Johnson & Johnson has improved its Rembrandt Advanced Whitening Strips so that they conform to the unique shape of the wearer's mouth. Using formfit technology made with a polymer blend, the firm claims the strips are 20% thinner so that they are more comfortable to wear, easier to remove, and have to be worn only once a day. Mint flavoring has also been added to the strips.

GlaxoSmithKline is taking the wraps off Clear NicoDerm CQ nicotine transdermal system. The clear patches feature ThinFlex, which GSK claims is "the thinnest, most flexible clear patch ever."

Novartis is trotting out Triaminic Infant Thin Strips Decongestant Plus Cough for the relief of nasal and sinus congestion from a cold or cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation. The company claims the strips "melt in an instant." Novartis is also launching Infant Triaminic Thin Strips Decongestant, Triaminic Thin Strips Cold, and Triaminic Thin Strips Cold & Cough.
