SoftLine Announces Windows Version of Ethnic NewsWatch

SoftLine Information has announced a new custom Windows version of Ethnic NewsWatch (ENW), a full-text database of 200 newspapers and magazines of the ethnic, minority, and native press.

The new graphical user interface includes icons for all functions and browse windows for all search fields. It allows point-and-click searching of the full text of all articles as well as the 10 carefully indexed fields of the database. Indexing includes Subjects and Article Type. A new clipboard for notes makes it possible to add notes as research is being done and to print or export the notes along with documents or simply as notes.

The new interface also allows greater advantage of the bilingual (English/ Spanish) search capability that has been a strong asset of the database from the beginning, according to SoftLine. A simple mouse click now switches the interface between languages. Spanish language content, including three Spanish language daily newspapers, has always been a component of the collection. A new search field, Language of Articles, now enables users to limit their search results to English or Spanish text. …
