Participants attend educational sessions, cruise the exhibit hall, tour the city and reconnect with colleagues through a week of non-stop action at this year's NRPA Congress and Exposition.

NRPA's Congress and Exposition in Seattle, Wash., gave participants a fun-filled exhibit hall, fact-finding educational sessions, first-hand tours of the city and even flying fish. With attendees enjoying everything from the markets in the picturesque city to the dynamic speakers in the convention center, the 2006 Congress was a success.

This year, close to 9,000 people attended the event, breaking previous records of attendance at last year's Congress in San Antonio, Texas. Participants this year raved about the quality of educational sessions, saying it was some of the best of any they had ever attended. The local host of Seattle operated more than 25 off-site institutes that provided participants with a look at park and recreation facilities in action across the city. The opening session also provided many highlights, including remarks from the U.S. Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne.

The energy of the city invigorated all the events, with the opening and closing parties hosted in some of the city's famous locales such as Freeway Park and the Experience Music Project. …
