Uppingham Summer School, based at and using the superb music and drama facilities of the prestigious Uppingham School in Rudand, is adding a fantastic new modern music course this summer to its existing range of music and drama summer courses. Total Music Powerhouse (16-20 July) is aimed at 12 to 18 year olds with an interest in any aspect of modern music - singers, song-writers, instrumentalists, producers, DJs and so on. Students, who can attend on a residential or nonresidential basis, will use the ultra modern music technology centre, built as part of the new Paul David Music School (the school's third building devoted to music education), which opened last Easter. Students will enjoy an additional varied programme of activities during the week including subjects such as marketing yourself, how to make the right contacts to progress in the music industry - and lots more for budding stars of the future.

Uppingham School's popular stable of summer courses also includes the flag ship course, Young Musicians Week (23-27 July), where up to 200, 6-18 year old orchestral musicians enjoy a varied programme of tuition, concerts and leisure, culminating in the popular end of course concert for an audience of 600.

National Young Pianists Week (16-20 July) is an intensive course for young pianists aged 9-2 1 and attracts young pianists from all over the world to participate, offering them masterclasses, one-to-one tuition, practice facilities - and lots more. …
