The correction of our item on the new Angenieux zoom lens was also incorrect. The truth is that Angenieux's new zoom is a 10mm to 120mm rather than a 12mm to 120mm. The 10mm to 120mm lens is a completely new T2 high efficiency coating lens which focuses by translation (and not rotation) of the front element permitting the use of polarizing and special effects filters on the lens itself. The improved version of the 12mm to 120mm zoom has the same optical elements as the previous version but in an improved mechanical configuration.

COMPACT FIELD LIGHT

Large light output and high power are combined with what is described as the smallest head size in its class, in a new field light for video and movie location lighting.

Developed by Osram, the AL-100 field lite features a 100w, 12v tungsten-halogen 3200°k bulb. The unit generates 10 minutes of continuous light at full power per charge.

The AL-100 can be used as a separated hand-held or tripod-mounted light. Or, its well designed handle allows it to be attached to the camera. For safe and compact portability, the lamp head slips neatly into the battery pack bracket and locks into place.

The head of the new unit has a zoom reflector which adjusts a focus range from 80° flood to 20° spot. The head size itself is 2.5'' x 8'' (including handle) x 3.5''.

The complete AL-100 weighs under four-and-a-half pounds and is priced at under $200.

It is available from Osram distributors or Osram Sales Corp. …
