I often make notes to myself when listening to a recording so that when I go to write up the review I am reminded of certain things that, in my opinion, need to be emphasized. In this case I wrote the words "robust", "joyous" and "beautiful". Maybe that says it all and I should quit right now. But I won't, for better or worse.

This is a solid or robust quartet throughout. One gets the impression that they would not suffer fools gladly. Yet, the music is very joyous and it is very evident they do enjoy each other musically and I would suspect as persons as well. This word "integrated" is overused to describe how musicians interrelate to each other but it seems so proper here. …
