David Glasser was a new name to me when I saw this CD, the first, to my knowledge, recorded under his leadership. I subsequently discovered that he was part of the Frank Foster directed Count Basic band on two CDs I have dating from 1989, but he apparently did not solo on either of them. Later in the '90s he performed and recorded with Clark Terry., which gave him a chance to shine in the solo spotlight. This CD is all Glasser with a very supportive rhythm section. Comprised evenly of Glasser originals and standards, the program affords Glasser the opportunity to display his talents across the board. …
