RAYMOND CHOW'S GOLDEN HARVEST FORMS NEW ALLIANCES

In a far reaching international financing and distribution arrangement involving major producers, directors and stars, Raymond Chow, under his Golden Harvest banner, has announced a major production slate and simultaneously the exclusive worldwide distribution arrangements with Classic Film, a massive new film financing and production organization.

In revealing three separate arrangements, Chow announced deals that involve major elements, among them stars such as Charles Bronson, Jackie Chan, Hardy Kruger, Roger Moore, Telly Savalas and Jaclyn Smith, as well as creative talents like Robert Clouse, Fielder Cook, Michael Grais, Paul Heller, Brian Hutton, John Milius, Hal Needham, Sam Peckinpah, S. Lee Pogostin, Al Ruddy, Mark Victor, Fred Weintraub and Brock Yates.

Chow detailed his association with Ruddy on two separate pictures to be made under the Albert S. Ruddy Productions banner. In addition, the two will function as Executive Producers on three pictures to be produced and totally financed by the Classic Film organization, recently formed by a group of German investors.

Furthermore, Chow revealed a separate production arrangement with producer Fred Weintraub to round out the Golden Harvest immediate production and distribution slate of six films at a budget totaling more than $60,000,000.

The first of the two Ruddy films is: CANNONBALL, a contemporary action adventure comedy to be directed by Hal Needham from an original first screenplay by famed auto racing writer Brock Yates. The film is a wacky story of many different participants in a 3,000-mile automobile race from the East to the West Coast. The second is THE TEXANS, a unique contemporary concept, to be directed by Sam Peckinpah from an original screenplay by John Milius.

Chow's deal with Weintraub renews an association that was internationally successful on ENTER THE DRAGON. The pair will again be joined by director Robert Clouse on BATTLECREEK BRAWL, a contemporary action drama, with Weintraub producing for executive producer Chow from an original script by Clouse. A start date of January 8 has been set on the film, which will star Jackie Chan, the top boxoffice star in the Far East today and the most important film successor to the late Bruce Lee.

Under Classic Film, which promises to become one of the industry's most important international film production and financing groups, Chow and Ruddy will be Executive Producers on an initial group of three pictures representing a $31,000,000 budget. …
