Fisk University has been awarded $100,000 from the SCANA Corporation Directors Endowment Plan, in honor of Dr. Henry Ponder, CEO and president of the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education.

Jackson State University has been awarded grants totalling $37,900 to exhibit the works of renowned twentieth century African American artist Jacob Lawrence. The grant was awarded by the Metro Jackson Convention and Visitors Bureau, Mississippi Humanities Council, Mississippi Arts Commission and the Arts Alliance of Jackson/Hinds County.

Morris Brown College Hospitality Administration Department has been awarded $27,500 from the Statler Foundation for scholarships, professional memberships, recruitment activities, and supplies for Scholars Restaurant.

The Morris Brown Research Institute has been awarded $800,000 from AT&T for its role in a collaborative project designed to speed up the integration of information technology into K-12 classrooms throughout Georgia. The project involving higher education, government, and industry, will maximize technology that is already located in schools with training and support. …
