For its new Pro Classics series, Suzuki has adopted a direct-to-buyer approach. The Pro Classics line of band and orchestra instruments-flute, clarinet, trumpet, alto and tenor saxophones, violin, and cello-are not available through retailers, only through Suzuki's website. The instruments offer top-of-the line mechanics as well as outstanding finish and hand engraving that rival many other professional models. A new batch of Pro Classics will be available early in 2008 as well.

For playing in the orchestra pit or in dimly lit clubs, Littlite provides a compact light source. The MS Music Stand Light is available with a 5-watt halogen lamp and in LED and mounts easily on the side or top of any standard music stand. The high-intensity halogen models include a dimmer, and the LED model can be switched from a white light to a red light. Both models are built with heavy duty steel and will stand up to constant use, and can use 12-inch and 18-inch goosenecks, putting the light as close or as far from your music as you need it.
