I couldn't agree more with the comments made by Robert Jacoby regarding the change in Techniques ("Letters" April 1997). Political correctness has gone too far. I'm proud to be called a vocational educator!

This my first year in vocational education and, wow, I think it's overwhelming to stay organized! The articles are all great! I really enjoyed "The Making of a High-Tech High School" (May 1997).... [I'd like to see] articles on time management and software used in businesses.

I think that your interview with business and industry in the May issue should be required reading for all vocational education teachers. As a first-year teacher coming out of 10 years in the casino and hotel industry, I have been stressing teamwork and communication skills along with technical training from day one. …
