Vinton G. Cerf to Present SLA 2008's Opening Keynote Address

Vinton G. Cerf, vice president and chief internet evangelist for Google, has been selected as the opening keynote speaker next June during the 2008 SLA Annual Conference and INFO-EXPO in Seattle. In a new format for the keynote, Emmy-award-winning journalist and talk-show host Charlie Rose will interview Cerf five in a session for the SLA conference attendees on Sunday, June 15.

According to SLA CEO Janice Lachance, "Throughout the last few decades, the evolution of how information professionals and librarians manage and locate information has been transformed by people such as Dr. Cerf, and I am thrilled that such a visionary in the development of technology and internet services is coming to address the SLA conference."
