ORIGINAL PARTY GIRL ZELDA KAPLAN RATES THE ROCK BANDS WHO DONT SOUND LIKE THEY OUGHTA

Judging by the name, the Scotland Yard Gospel Choir seems perfectly suited for the churchgoing senior citizen set. In fact, the Chicago-based folkrock outfit is one of several bands with names that suggest a vested interest in cornering the granny market. To help us get to the bottom of this trend, New York City's queen of nightlife, Zelda Kaplan, age 91-a fan of classical and ballroom-graciously agreed to predict several bands' sounds based on their deceptively AARP-friendly names. Then, after listening to each track, she gave us her verdict.

1. Athens Boys Choir, WaHo, from Rose Cuts the Cake

Prediction: "It should be in Greek. I love choirs of all kinds."

It really is: American gender-queer spoken-word hip-hop

Verdict: "I find this boring. The beat becomes monotonous."
