NDCHealth Corp. made a $52 million investment to acquire controlling interest in TechRx, a Pittsburgh pharmacy automation software firm that had been on its own buying spree in recent years. NDCHealth has the right to buy the rest of TechRx next May for $100 million to $200 million. NDCHealth also paid Arclight Systems $81 million in cash to acquire selected assets of ScriptLINE, a provider of pharmacy network editing services.

The National Council for Prescription Drug Programs has released the Pharmacy ID Card Implementation Guide Version 1.6. The new guide will accommodate North Carolina's mandate for encoded, machinereadable ID information on pharmacy cards as of next Jan 1.
