Common sense is the operative word here-and how few are the developers who seem to have it! This excellent book should be required reading for anyone who designs any kind of user interface. The author is an experienced interaction designer and usability specialist who has worked with GoDaddy.com, Macromedia, Adobe, and many other clients. Hoekman clearly has helped make life for the user much better.

The book is divided into nine chapters, each focusing on a different aspect of "obvious design." Chapter 2 is my favorite-"Understand Users, Then Ignore Them." The author states that you cant expect users to tell you what they want; you just have to understand what they want to do. …
