This music is long overdue to be available again. I have a second generation LP in my collection, United Artists UAL 4077. The original issue was also on United Artists UAL 4024. The reason I mention the disc I have is that one tune is listed differently than on the original and this CD reissue and that is the tune Like Basie which is listed as Like Who? on my disc. I mention this only so you are not confused in anyway.

This recording is, I think, the last one that Paul Quinichette made under his own name. He had the reputation of being more or less a clone of Lester Young and probably some of this criticism is justified. …
