Ruby Braff has been well represented on Arbors with 17 other CDs currently available from their catalog. This CD, however, marks the end of his recording career. Following this session, he engaged in a successful tour in the UK with a final performance on August 7 in Scotland before finally giving way to the emphysema that was to take his life early in 2003. Long known as a difficult personality, one would never know that from listening to his music. This CD is no exception. …
