To Blog or Not to Blog

While it may seem that simply everyone is Hogging these days, that's not quite the case. A recent study by BIGresearch shows that 26% of the U.S. population blogs occasionally or regularly. The old stereotypes of bloggers being computer geeks, college students with too much time and too much to say, or the unemployed just aren't true. According to the study, today's bloggers are younger (average age of 37.6 years, compared with 44.8 years for the overall U.S. population) and better educated (14.3 years of education versus 14.2) than the rest of the U.S. population, but they earn less too ($55,819 versus $56,811). Other facts? The composition of bloggers is 53.7% male, 44.7% are married, 10.4% are students, and 28.4% have a professional or a managerial position.

Swets CFO Nominated for Top Honors

Siebe van Elsloo, CFO at Swets, was nominated for the title of CFO of the Year in the Non-Listed Companies category by the Netherlands-based CFO Magazine. The award will be presented at the magazine's annual CFO Day, June 12 in Noordwijkerhout, the Netherlands. The criteria for the nomination included CFOs from Dutch companies not quoted on the stock exchange that have realized a turnover of euro250 million in 2007 and have been in the post for at least 2 years. …
