It's hot out and you're thirsty- Are you dreaming of an ice-cold soda? Wake up and smell the sucrose! There ore 41 grams of sugar in one can of Pepsi, 46 grams in Mountain Dew and a whopping 50 grams in Orange Slice soda. So next time you're craving a cold beverage, go for good ol' water. If you're really in the mood for something fizzy, grab a bottle of sparkling water and add lemon or lime for taste.

Summer is here and the SUn IS OUt! Here are some tips for decoding your sunscreen's label:

* Always use at least SPF 15. The higher the Sun Protection Factor (SPF), the longer it works against uttraviolet-B (UVB) rays, which cause burning and may lead to skin cancer.

* Formulas have also strengthened their defense against short ultraviolet-A (UVA) rays, which are considered the chief culprit behind wrinkling.

* Sunscreens absoib the rays so they don't reach your skin. Sunblocks, the more aggressive choice, physically deflect harmful rays.

* Make sure your label says "UVA/UVB protection" or "broadspectrum protectont" (meaning it protects from both UVA and UVB).

* "Waterproof" sunscreen should provide protection in the water for 80 minutes, while "water resistant" provides only 40 minutes of protection.
