Editor's Notes

Within the next six months and possibly even before our next issue, Black Masks will be activating a new section of its web site at www.blackmasks.com to make available special collectors sets of Black Masks ranging from five-issue sets on various topics, such as August Wilson and his plays, or Black women playwrights, etc., to a very limited number of complete sets of the entire twenty-three years of issues assembled in a special decorative binder. Single articles and individual issues will also be available as well as customized sets of five or ten issues. A complete bibliography of all the articles published in Black Masks will also be available soon and will be sent free by email to anyone who requests it on the new part of our site. The bibliography will be arranged by topic and will either be in MLA or Chicago Manual style to facilite incorporation into researchers' working bibliographies. We certainly look forward to being able to announce the launch soon.

You may find it particularly helpful for discovering what events are happening around the U.S. in the months between the receipt of your hard copies of the Black Masks' "Arts Hotline." You can also use the interactive feature in the "Arts Hotline" section to enter information on your own events. As opposed to the limited space in our printed issue, the online web site can carry a larger number of events and, within reason, considerably more descriptive information than we are able to carry in the hard copy of the magazine. So take advantage of this service even for small events or events of short duration. There is a filter that will not permit the event to appear immediately on the site but once it is reviewed, you will find it published there under its particular genre within your own state. …
