NAO Chief Awarded a CB in Queen's Honours List

The head of the National Audit Office, Tim Burr, has been made a Companion of the Order of the Bath in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours, one of 959 people honoured.

Auditor general Burr, who took over as head of the NAO in February this year, was joined on the list by a number of fellow CIPFA members.

Michael More, chief executive of Westminster CHy Council, was given a CBE for services to local government, and the chief executive of the Association of Accounting Technicians, Jane Scott Paul, received an OBE for services to the accountancy profession.

In Worcestershire, Vic Allison, deputy managing director at Wychavon District Council, was awarded an MBE for his work in local government and in the community.

The Cabinet Office said a significant majority of those honoured were involved in charitable or voluntary work, with 10% of awards going to those working in education and 8% to those working in health services. …
