H.W.Wilson announced that WilsonWeb CX Edition meets standards for the Shibboleth System, the standards-based software for web sign-on across or within organizational boundaries. It allows sites to make informed authorization decisions for individual access to protected online resources in a privacy-preserving manner (www.hwwilson.com).

Factiva introduced a deduplication limit option in its Search product. Deduplication for Alerts already existed. The option allows searchers to remove duplicate articles before, during, or after the search; choose to remove only English-language duplicates; and view removed articles. The three levels of deduplication, for both Search and Alerts, are Level O Off (no deduplication), Level 1 Virtually Identical (removes very few duplicate articles), and Level 2 Similar (removes the highest number of duplications). OCLC is offering Web Harvester, a new product that allows libraries and other cultural heritage institutions to capture and add web content to their digital collections managed by OCLCs CONTENT dm Digital Collection Management Software. OCLCs Web Harvester addresses the need to store and provide access to otherwise highly transient information resources that solely exist on websites (www.oclc.org).
