Moodle goes corporate

Companies of all sizes have begun to embrace Moodle, an open-source learning management system that can be downloaded free and operates with virtually every other training-related software system on the market. Jason Cole, author of the book Using Moodle, says, "There is an enormous range, from mom and pop shops to mega-companies using Moodle to create and manage course content."

Tech boost for whistle-blowers

The $700 billion bailout measure should create renewed interest in ethics hot lines, which have evolved into sophisticated Webbased tools. The biggest problem, though, could be getting more companies to use them. Many hot lines are run by outside vendors as 24/7 call centers with the promise of complete anonymity to employees while providing HR managers with reports that can pinpoint potential trouble spots.
