MOUNT ROYAL CONSERVATORY'S 13TH ANNUAL SUMMER ORGAN ACADEMY IN CALGARY, JULY 19-28, 2009

Under the artistic direction of Simon Preston, Calgary's Mount Royal Conservatory's Summer Organ Academy offers intensive, short-term studies for organ students and young professionals. It is unique in its superb faculty-to-student ratio of approximately one to four. Instruction is given in small groups and individual lessons. A performance opportunity in one of the closing concerts is guaranteed for every accepted student.

Each student will participate in lessons and classes. Ample daily practice time is arranged in advance. This allows students to work on issues raised at the instruction sessions, and to return the following day having digested the advice. The result is an unrivaled dialogue between faculty and students, through which genuine progress is achieved. This year's faculty will be Simon Preston, David Higgs, Michael Radulescu, and Neil Cockburn.
