One of today's biggest business problems revolves around data. Just consider the following statistics:

* The U.S. spends about $50 billion on B2B marketing data annually, according to the Direct Marketing Association.

* About 97% of survey respondents say they don't trust contact data to be accurate or clean, according to a global research report from the Dynamic Markets, Ltd.

* Poor quality data costs US. businesses more than $600 billion each year, according to the Data Warehouse Institute.

That's why Jigsaw Data Corp., which Inc. magazine called "the world's largest Rolodex," is unleashing Data Fusion, an automated service that gives Jigsaw's users the most accurate and up-to-date versions of its 12 million business contact records and 2 million company records.

"People who deal with data end up hitting walls when there are incomplete or incorrect records, dead or duplicate records, or even nonstandard records," says Jim Fowler, CEO of Jigsaw. "It's the old concept of 'garbage in, garbage out,'" he says. "We launched Jigsaw Data Fusion so it could automatically update and manage a company's data contacts in the cloud every night so users have fresh results in the morning. Customers don't have to do a thing. All the updating is done automatically."

Since Jigsaw's start in late 2003, the number of registered members who build and maintain its contact database has grown to 800,000. Fowler says Jigsaw has worked well for small- to medium-sized businesses that want to keep their teams in the know and on the cutting edge, but now, Data Fusion is raising the bar on ease of use. …
