Tommy Whittle was age 76 when he made this recording. You would not guess that to be true as the vitality and energy displayed here is that of a much younger person. Nine of the thirteen tunes are a quartet. Jeff Green is added only on four numbers. My only complaint about the CD is that I wish he were on all of them. He just fills out the rhythm section so beautifully. Keith Ingham has made many recordings that I have been privileged to hear but he just seems to be at his very best of this one. …
