New Process Brings Additional Candidates

NASP ELECTIONS 2010

Whether it was because of the extended deadline to self-nominate or the elimination of the primary, the NASP membership has responded by getting more involved in the election process. Typically, we hold a primary election in October with the top two nominees heading to a general election in January, but this year the Executive Council decided to eliminate the primary (nominations) and extend the deadline for members to self-nominate to run for leadership positions in NASP. That deadline has now passed and the result is a significant increase in members who wish to be state delegates or a NASP officer.

Listed below are the members who have entered the delegate, treasurer, and president-elect races. We have three well-qualified candidates in each of the president-elect and treasurer races. The election will be held from January 5 to February 1, 2010. Members will be sent e-mail blasts reminding them to vote online or by requesting a paper ballot. Candidate information will appear on the NASP Elections webpage and in future editions of NASP Announce and COMMUNIQUE. …
