We are pleased to announce two changes to our masthead. Michael Kazin, professor of history at Georgetown University, has joined Michael Walzer as the new co-editor of Dissent, and Arlene Skolnick has been elected to the editorial board.

Mitchell Cohen, who served as co-editor from Spring 1991 to Winter 2009, returns to being an active member of our editorial board. He will have a piece in the Fall issue on the events of 1989, which he covered for the magazine. Kazin, who joined the editorial board in 2000, is finishing a book on the history of the American Left and will not assume all the duties of co-editor until the end of the calendar year, but he has already begun to attend editorial meetings and consult on future issues of the magazine.

His most recent article in the magazine was "A Difficult Marriage: American Protestants and American Politics" (Winter 2006), and his most recent contribution to the Web site was a reflection on Barack Obama's inauguration. …
