This is a very unusual CD to review. First of all, if you do not like string quartet music you will have a problem and if you do not prefer Dave Brubeck's writing, you just compound matters. However, this reviewer fell in love with string quartets many years ago and first discovered Brubeck while in the service in 1951, so I think this is a great disc.

Every tune, save for two, was written by the master. Paul Desmond is responsible for Take Five and I have no idea why me quartet added the bonus tune to the CD but this three minute plus offering of What Child Is This? …
