Hearing this recording is like walking down an avenue and seeing a friend you have been out of touch with for years. I bought the LP (RCA Victor LPM 1508) a half century ago and must admit that I have not played that recording recently, although it sure deserved it. Then sometime later I found an LP titled Bread, Butter and Jam, RCA Victor LPM 1644 and the four tracks that were not on the original LP showed up there along with some items by Henry "Red" Allen, Ruby Braff and Lee Wiley. …
