Two excellent bebop outings and, while one was issued back in the long play record days, the latter is released for the first time. Originally it was to be billed as 'Al Haig and his band', but he felt that everyone had contributed so much that he wanted it known as the title shows above and I tend to agree with him.

These are live sessions and may be the entire evening's work at the unlikely jazz venue in Hampstead, run by the late Alan Lund, who taught at the private school and booked sessions in their artsy auditorium. The two CDs together give us over 90 minutes of music but not one dull moment! All of the titles are well known but a couple need to be highlighted. Loverman and Laura show Peter King to great advantage while Ruby My Dear has some great Art Theman work. …
