Mary Lou Williams made her first recordings in the year 1927 and recorded right into the 21st century. She was indeed a major star when it came to jazz piano as well as a gifted arranger and also a composer of note. This CD on hand is near the end of her career but you would not know it by the amount of energy, imagination and dexterity she displays.
