James Moody, an early bebopper and a bopper still. To say he has been around the block a few times is a gross understatement. His association with Dizzy Gillespie is legendary. He has traveled all over the place, played with enough fine jazz musicians to fill a book and at age 84 is still going. His performance on this disc is anything but timid or weak. His ballad work here is next to Ben Webster's and Ben is the gold standard. His up tempo work is solid.

Now to this you add the piano work of Kenny Barron. No need to expound on that. Todd Coolman is a long time associate with Moody and he is a cool man. His work is rock solid and then we have Lewis Nash, a very tasty drummer and time keeper par excellence. …
