NAO leaves R&C a tough message after the tone

Revenue & Customs has been slammed by the National Audit Office for its failure to answer thousands of telephone enquiries.

The NAO said that only 57% of the 103 million calls made to R&C customer services in 2008/09 - were answered. During the tax credits renewal peak in July, only 33% of calls were answered.

While the overall number of answered cal Is rose to 73% for the first half of 2009/ 10, this response remained well below the industry benchmark of 90%. Boris strives to avoid cycle of deprivation

Transport for London and the London mayor are investing £11 Im this year in projects to 'revolutionise' cycling.
