TO THE EDITOR:

I would like to thank Adrienne Brown Canty for her excellent article "Getting a 'Decent Sort': Key Considerations When Planning for AMH" (pp. 12-18) in the July/August 2010 issue of Computers in Libraries. My library has just completed an RFID project at our newest branch, the Tommy Douglas Library. We did not include automated materials handling (AMH) at this branch for a number of reasons but will definitely be including it as we roll out RFID in our two largest branches. Adrienne's clear and thorough approach confirmed much of our findings during our pre-project investigations, raised new issues, and presented a logical process to follow when considering and implementing an AMH project. I have kept a copy of the article in my files and intend to refer to it frequently when we begin our next RFID project.
