Lindsey Bittner Graham

Two Irish Cobs, oil, 8 x 10.

"Horses are special to me because I grew up in Louisville, KY, riding show horses and working in stables," says Lindsey Bittner Graham, who used to be a fashion illustrator before she started painting full-time. Even though she moved to Colorado with her family in 1970, horses are still one of her passions. TWO IRISH COBS was inspired by a trip to a farm in northern Colorado that raises Irish Cobs, a breed of horses originally from Ireland. "These horses have short builds and feathered hair and are known for being people -or Sen ted and sweet-natured," she explains. This is Graham's second year in Abend Gallery's holiday miniatures show, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The show opens on Friday, December 3, with a reception from 5 to 9 p.m. Abend Gallery is in Denver, CO.
