From Italy, this is one in a series of vinyl reissues of the great blues men of the twenties and thirties. The list includes Charley Patton, Blind Blake, Mississippi Sheiks, Skip James, Blind Willie McTell, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Frank Stokes and Ma Rainey, as well as country roots artists Charley Poole, Doc Boggs and The Carter Family, plus some issues of Django Reinhardt. All in all, it's a very ambitious catalog.

Italian pressings have historically been problematic. For example, one listen to the crackle and crunch of the BASE reissues of the ESP catalog was enough for some people to give up vinyl forever. …
