Philadelphian Fred Wackenhut studied with Bernard Peiffer and has been honing his talents over these many years. I am almost sure this is his initial recording under his own name. He sure chose good bandmates. Larry McKenna is another Philly artist and his recent CD, It Might as Well be Spring, Dreamhouse Media DML 1056) was reviewed in our December 2009 issue. Darryl Hall, on the other hand, has made many recordings both in the Philadelphia and New York City market. Nick Ciminale is now deceased but was a very tasteful drummer on this outing and to my knowledge this is the only recording he made. …
