Dogwoof Strikes Deal for Client 9, the Oath, Blood in the Mobile

UK distributor Dogwoof has been on the prowl for feature-docs at this week's IDFA.

As the festival reaches its final weeked, the British buyer has confirmed acquisitions of three titles.

The new buys are spearheaded by Alex Gibney's Client 9: The Rise And Fall Of Eliot Spitzer, sold by Ro'Co Films International. Gibney's film chronicles the political career of Spitzer, former Governor of New York State, which collapsed in spectacular fashion after he was caught out as a client at a high-class escort agency.

"We are very, very excited to be working on an Alex Gibney film for the first time. We're obviously big admirers of his work in the world of documentary," Dogwoof's Oli Harbottle said of the pick-up.

Dogwoof has all rights except TV which have already gone to the BBC. …
