UK-Irish Co-Production Citadel Starts Shoot in Glasgow

Despite the sub-zero temperatures in Scotland, the team behind Citadel has started shooting in Glasgow.

The Irish-UK co-production stars Aneurin Barnard (Ironclad), James Cosmo (Braveheart) and Wunmi Mosuka (I Am Slave). Co-stars are Ingrid Craigie and Amy Shiels.

Katie Holly of Blinder Films and Brian Coffey of Sigma Films produce. Executive producers are Kieron J. Walsh, Gillian Berrie and David Mackenzie.

Ciaran Foy, an NFTS graduate, writes and directs his debut feature.

The story is about feral children who attack in a council estate. One father has to fight the gangs with the help of a priest.

THe project is shooting for three weeks on location and in a Glasgow studio and one week in Dublin. The film is being readied for an autumn 2011 release.

Backing comes from The Irish Film Board, Creative Scotland, Section 481 and the UK Tax Credit. …
