* This month we are pleased to welcome PRRACs new Deputy Director, Saba Bireda. Saba comes to us from the Center for American Progress, a DC-based progressive think tank, where she served as an Education Policy Analyst. Prior to her work at CAP, she was a litigation associate at the law firm Morgan Lewis and a staff attorney with the Education Law Center. She is a graduate of Harvard Law School and the Teach for America program.

* We are also pleased to welcome Damon Hewitt to PRRACs Board of Directors. He is Director of Education Practice at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and has had an outstanding career in racial justice litigation and policy work- including important advocacy on behalf of low-income families in post-Katrina New Orleans. …
