FORESTRY GRANTS QUERY

Welsh PAC raises concerns

The Welsh Assembly's Public Accounts Committee has raised concerns over 'systematic failings' in how Forestry Commission Wales distributes grants. A PAC report called on the quango to tighten up its method after an inquiry found it had 'failed in its duty' to consult the public over a £500,000 award to a workers' co-operative, to buy an area of woodland in Pembrokeshire.

HEALTH RECEIVES £8.6BN

Sturgeon announces fiinding

Scottish health boards will share £8.6bn in revenue funding next financial year. This includes a £70m Change Fund to work with local authorities on the redesign of health and social care services.
