"Our Lives, Our Stories: America's Greatest Generation" travels to the William F. Laman PubHc Library in North Little Rock, AR, April 6. The story-driven exhibit views U.S. history from a generational perspective, and highlights the emerging youth culture in the 1930s, when an average teenager went to the movies four times a week.

In a traveling exhibition organized by the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA, ninety pieces of ceremonial art interpret the pervasive role of water in the Maya worldview. "Fiery Pool: The Maya and the Mythic Sea" is on view at the St. Louis Art Museum through May 8. The project's title refers to the blazing waters of the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico, a basin known among the Maya as K'ohk' Nabb, the "fiery pool."

"Dynasty and Divinity: lfe Art in Ancient Nigeria" appears at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond through May 22. On view are works from the twelfth to the fifteenth century that used techniques far in advance of anything available then in Europe or China. …
