Visualization is quickly becoming a new step in the process of adopting business solutions. And for business decision makers who want to test-drive a software simulation before committing to the final specs, iRise is making that option a reality.

Business solution giant SAP is one of the key players that is leaving the old drafting board behind as it joins forces with Los Angeles-based iRise to offer a resell of its visualization software. The move expands iRise's reach to more than 170,000 SAP customers worldwide, while helping SAP achieve its goals to accelerate business value; reduce loss of cost, time, and quality; improve usability; and develop mobile solutions.

Mitch Bishop, CMO of iRise, explains that its software provides "a tool that's akin to computer-aided design" for business analysts to create complex business solutions. iRise lets analysts draft fully functioning, interactive simulations of the software, using simple tools such as drag and drop without requiring any coding. "The business stakeholders can see, fully experience, and test-drive the final system before you've invested in any expensive coding," he says.

Some businesses are quick to sign off on solutions that they don't understand rather than sift through hundreds of text pages of functional documents, says Bishop. …
