Dad, Tilva Ros, Mother Of Asphalt up for regional Bauer Award

Croatia's Motovun Film Festival has announced the nominees for its regional Bauer Award, its main competition line-up and Ireland as the partner company for its 12th edition, running July 25-29.

The Bauer Award for the best film in theatrical distribution in the countries of the former Yugoslavia was established last year. After two rounds of voting by film professionals from the region the nominees are Nikola Lezaic's Tilva Rosh from Serbia, winner of best film and best actor for Marko Todorovic at last year's Sarajevo Film Festival; Vlado Skafar's Dad, the first Slovenian film ever selected for Venice Days, in 2010; and Dalibor Matanic's Mother Of Asphalt from Croatia, winner of the FIPA d'Or, best actress for Marija Skaricic and best music for Jura Ferina and Pavao Miholjevic at FIPA in Biarritz.

The winner will be chosen by a jury consisting of film directors Faruk Loncarevic (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Agim Sopi (Kosovo), Goran Devic (Croatia), Damjan Kozole (Slovenia), Teona Mitevska (Macedonia), Marija Perovic (Montenegro) and Serbian actress Nada Sargin.

The winning film will receive a cash prize of $7,040 (Euros 5,000) from the festival and $14,079 (Euros 10,000) in post-production services from Slovenia's Teleking.

Motovun has also announced that it will screen the world premiere of One Woman - One Century, the new film by veteran Serbian auteur Zelimir Zilnik, out of competition. …
