Sony's The Smurfs stood at more than $211m as of last weekend and face an international showdown with Cowboys & Aliens heading into the new session.

Sony Pictures Releasing International's Bad Teacher is on more than $98.9m and Zookeeper is bearing down on $64m.

Cowboys & Aliens is set to launch through PPI in around 23 territories, among them France, Germany, Mexico and Hong Kong, and stands at an early $21.9m.

DreamWorks International's Kung Fu Panda 2 has amassed $465.2m and opens in Italy, while The Guard arrives in Australia and New Zealand. Transformers: Dark Of The Moon has amassed $751.2m.

Fox International's Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes has grossed $127.3m so far and launches in Brazil this weekend.

Elsewhere for Fox, Mr Popper's Penguins has taken $97.2m and opens in Norway, while Pedro Almodovar's The Skin I Live In debuts in the UK and Come Trovare Nel Modo debuts in Italy. …
