Rock stars and hotel rooms go together like televisions and open windows - famously. The same creative energies that spark destruction also inspire design-driven sleeps, and for the music lover, that's a tune to book in to. Hotel Pelirocco (i) (10 Regency Sq., Brighton, +44-(o)i273327-055; taps Brighton's tumultuous history of mods and rockers, bringing a saucy sensibility to its 19 music-themed rooms, like the vinyl collection and dark golds and deep purples of the Motown room, or the punky Britgasm of the Pretty Vacant Sex Pistols-themed room. Others give a nod to Lee Scratch Perry, Skint Records, Leigh Bowery, and even Dolly Parton. More focused, the mono-themed Hard Days Night Hotel (2) (Central Buildings, N. John St., Liverpool, +44-(o)i5i-236-ig64; pays tribute to the Fab Four with no rooms in the heart of Liverpool's "Beatles' Quarter." Gutted from an 1884 building adjacent to the Cavern Club, rooms feature custom Beatles-inspired artwork and marry elegance with a pop sensibility that wisely eschews camp for class (except, perhaps, the all-white grand piano in the Lennon Suite). …
