Juan Sarda Named Spanish Correspondent for Screen

Juan Sarda has been appointed Spanish Correspondent for ScreenDaily and Screen International.

He is a well-known film and culture journalist in Spain and on the international festival circuit.

After graduating with a journalism degree from the Universitat Ramon Llull in Barcelona, he moved to Madrid in 2001 started working for leading Spanish newspaper El Mundo, where he has written criticism, film industry reportage, and interviews with major directors including Martin Scorsese, Pedro Almodovar, Gus Van Sant, David Fincher and Quentin Tarantino.

From 2006-2010, he was head of the cinema section at El Mundo's supplement El Cultural. He currently also contributes to El Cultural as well as Fotogramas magazine.

Sarda, who is fluent in Spanish, English and French, is also the author of 2010 novel Dinamica de los cuerpos electricos; his next novel, to be published in 2012, is Taksim.

Sarda steps into the role as Screen's most recent Spanish correspondent, Chris Evans, has relocated back to the UK. …
