BJA announced in September that Assistant Attorney General Laurie O. Robinson had selected Jim Burch as Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Operations and Management for the Office of Justice Programs. Over the past 17 years, in his roles as Deputy Director for Policy and as Acting Director at BJA, "Jim oversaw efforts designed to provide leadership in criminal justice policy, training, and technical assistance and to further the administration of justice," the announcement said. "Jim's vision has made BJA an important force for the development and implementation of evidenced-based criminal justice policy and has focused on our core grant-management responsibilities that have resulted in more responsible grants management and improved responsiveness to our grantees."
