"The first ingrethent listed on the package of any carbohydrate you use should be whole wheat flour," says Allison Wagner, a registered dietician who works with the Cincinnati Ballet. Whole wheat flour Is higher in fiber than regular white flour, so it fills you up faster and keeps you full longer.

Guacamole and hummus contain monounsaturated and poly unsatu rated fats, or "good fats," which promote a healthy heart, brain and nervous system. Heidi Skolnick, nutritionist to the dancers at the School of American Ballet and The Juilliard School, says avocado is also an especially great mayo alternative because it has a similarly creamy texiure.
